Founded by sisters Thi, Thoa, and Tram Bui, the space offers a cozy lounge where visitors can interact with playful, adoptable kittens; hours are daily from 12–7 p.m., with last entry 30 minutes before close. After the temporary Stanford Shopping Center pop-up closed on April 2, 2025 when its lease expired, the Bui sisters brought the program back to Palo Alto with this dedicated California Avenue location to continue rescuing neonatal kittens and placing them in loving homes. Mini Cat Town also welcomes visitors at its Bay Area locations in San Jose (Eastridge), Milpitas (Great Mall), Pleasanton (Stoneridge), and Santa Rosa.

Brooklyn Cat Café is a volunteer-run adoption center and community space that opened its doors in May 2016, proudly operating as the city’s only non-profit cat café under the Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition (BBAWC). Founded with a mission to combat cat homelessness, this cozy spot welcomes over 35,000 visitors annually in a typical year, offering a relaxed environment where adoptable cats roam freely and interact with guests sipping on coffee.
