Charleston, South Carolina

Pounce Cat Cafe + Wine Bar in Charleston, South Carolina, is a charming urban retreat founded by best friends Ashley Brooks and Annaliese Hughes in December 2016 as the first of their two locations. Partnering with Charleston Animal Society, this cozy spot hosts around 15-20 adoptable rescue cats in a stylish, cage-free lounge where visitors can enjoy an hour of feline interaction after sipping coffee, local beer, or wine—served with pastries—in a separate bar area. The cafe’s modern design, with exposed brick and plush cat perches, offers a welcoming atmosphere for relaxing or socializing, while its mission to boost shelter cat adoptions has contributed to over 4,000 successful placements across both Pounce locations. Perfectly situated in downtown Charleston, it’s an ideal stop for locals and tourists alike to unwind with a drink and a purr, making it a beloved community hub where every cat is a potential new family member. Reservations are highly recommended to ensure a spot in this popular blend of cafe culture and cat companionship.
