Cat Cafes in Jefferson City, Missouri

Jefferson City, Missouri

Baristocats Cat Cafe, located at 702 E McCarty St in Jefferson City, Missouri, is a heartwarming venture by People Helping Paws Cat Rescue, a foster-based nonprofit dedicated to saving high-risk cats since 2011. Opened in December 2022 after years of planning and pandemic-related delays, this cozy cafe offers a dual experience: a coffee shop serving drip coffee, lattes, pastries, and snacks, and a separate cat lounge where guests can spend time with 10 to 20 adoptable cats, ranging from bottle-fed kittens to seniors who thrive outside traditional shelters, for $5 per half-hour or $8 per hour, with proceeds supporting the rescue's mission. The cafe features monthly events like kitten yoga led by certified instructors, blending relaxation with feline interaction in a clean, volunteer-run space adorned with a wall-length mural. Partnering with fosters to socialize cats that might otherwise struggle, Baristocats creates a stress-free adoption environment for visitors to sip, socialize, and potentially find a new furry friend.
