Visitors can enjoy a laid-back atmosphere with a menu featuring freshly brewed coffee, iced teas, homemade bagels, brownies, cheesecakes, and light bites like hummus with pita, while spending time in the dedicated cat lounge for an entry fee of Rs. 200 per hour, with all proceeds directly supporting the cats’ care.

PURRed at Charlie's proudly claims the title of the city’s first cat cafe, offering a serene escape for cat lovers and coffee enthusiasts alike. Founded by a team passionate about rescuing abandoned and injured felines, the cafe collaborates with local efforts to provide a safe haven for adoptable cats, each one vetted and cared for with love, creating opportunities for guests to bond with potential furry companions. Visitors can enjoy a menu featuring artisanal coffees, iced lattes, hearty breakfast options like French toast and eggs, and indulgent treats such as fries and burgers, all served in a cozy, cat-themed space adorned with feline artwork and playful decor. For an entry fee of ₹200 per hour, guests can enter the cat lounge to cuddle and play with the resident kitties, making it a therapeutic retreat after a long day.

Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Ubasti Cat Café & Lounge is Chennai's first cat cafe, opened in late 2025 in the Uthandi area along the East Coast Road. Founded by Dr Tasmia Papa, the cafe is dedicated to rehoming rescued cats through an experiential adoption process. All resident cats are rescues, and the cafe follows up with adopters for at least a year after adoption. The menu features cat-themed items including the Egyptian Mau Espresso, Ginger Tabby Chai, and Bengal Jim Jam Shake. The cafe also offers grooming services for dogs and cats, and hosts creative workshops including paint-with-cats sessions. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 10pm.
