Frabjous Catfe

Frabjous Catfé in Wake Forest, North Carolina, was a distinctive cat café born from a passion for coffee and a commitment to animal welfare, offering a cozy, Alice in Wonderland–themed space where visitors could enjoy beverages, snacks, and time with adoptable cats. Inspired by founders Dawn and Steve’s experience at a cat café in Charleston, SC, and shaped by Dawn’s background as a foster with Paws For Life NC, the café partnered with the rescue to provide a sanctuary for cats awaiting their forever homes, with guests able to book 30–60 minute sessions in the Cheshire Lounge while enjoying coffee, tea, wine, beer, and locally sourced treats. After operating as a community hub focused on reducing feline euthanasia rates and promoting adoptions, Frabjous Catfé permanently closed on July 28, 2025, following the end of its lease and unsuccessful efforts to remain in its location, with the owners expressing interest in continuing their rescue-focused mission in a new form in the future.
