Bedford Cat Café is Bedford’s original cat café, located at 87 High Street, offering a warm and relaxing space where guests can enjoy a hot drink, freshly prepared food, and the company of affectionate rescue cats. The café is currently temporarily closed, but will be re-opening on 30th June 2025 under new ownership, continuing its mission of creating a peaceful haven for both people and cats. In partnership with Peterborough Cat Rescue, Bedford Cat Café provides a loving home for cats in need, including those with disabilities or additional care requirements. The café is committed to promoting the benefits of cat adoption, especially for overlooked cats such as seniors or those with special needs, while delivering the highest standards of animal welfare under its licensed care. The mission of Bedford Cat Café is to create a calm, welcoming environment where people can connect with cats and experience the emotional and physical benefits of feline companionship. From lowering stress levels to boosting mental wellbeing, the healing power of cats is at the heart of everything they do. Guests are invited to visit daily once doors reopen, though house rules will be in place to ensure a safe and respectful environment for both cats and humans. All resident cats are neutered, vaccinated, and cared for by trained staff. Advance booking is recommended due to limited space and to ensure a comfortable visit for all.
